Staying positive
by Dan J. on Apr.21, 2009, under Random Thoughts
When it comes to my financial situation (and really… life in general), one thing after another happens just to set me and T back a few steps. Who got a tax return this year? Most of you? Not us. Instead, a nice four figure payment is due immediately. This, merely weeks after my bathtub was replaced to prevent T and I from falling through the rotting upstairs bathroom floor, and after my poor nan passed away.
I won’t go into much detail about work, but the jobs are rolling in, however in response to the “economic crisis” (thank you US mortgage holders), the company has determined that paycuts will be instilled, helping to keep the majority of staff employed for the foreseeable future. I would not even question the fact that I am lucky to have a full time job, however it is yet another notch on the belt of despair. Sorry for that last sentence
Oh yes, the title is “Staying positive”, lets go back to that. It’s not what I’m doing currently, but it is what I SHOULD be doing. I do capture whiffs of economic improvement occassionally, and here’s hoping they continue. I have a house, 2 (terrible) cars, a loving wife, and a cat that might as well be a small human being, given her personality. I need to try to focus on the bright side of things, which isn’t something I have been very good at. Here’s hoping things turn around soon, not just for me, but for everyone having a tough time.
