Best online food recipes

by Dan J. on Apr.30, 2009, under Random Thoughts

I’ve been a frequent user of an online, user-created service called stumbleupon for a couple of years now.  It’s probably one of the ultimate time wasters, supplying me with link after link, however the one topic I have always found there to be way too many of, was recipes.  Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE food, but if I see another recipe for the “BEST chocolate chip cookie EVAR!” I think I’ll lose my mind.

Thankfully, I’m here.  I have sorted through all of my favorites, of which there are hundreds upon hundreds and created a short of list of the most devilishly delicious treats.

The most grotesque product you will see down Aisle 3

by Dan J. on Apr.30, 2009, under Random Thoughts

This is the beginning of the end.I wasn’t really sure what to think when I saw this.  I mean, sure, a chicken in a can, why the hell not?  I couldn’t possibly be expected to have enough time to cook a chicken, or god forbid buy a precooked one from the local grocery store.

This product honestly beats out Cheeseburger In A Can for most blatant exploitation of the human’s ‘desire’ to put vile, grotesque slime covered objects into their gobs.  At least cheeseburger in a can resembled what it advertised…. even if you did have to boil it.  *shudder*.

Humans really will eat anything, if only for a dare.  I for one award the individuals who do so, however please, under no circumstances, lose grip with reality and allow these products to enter your weekly, or god forbid, daily meal plans.

EDIT : Even MORE pics of the sweet, delicious chicken.

Best. Website. Ever!

by Dan J. on Apr.29, 2009, under Random Thoughts

In all its glory.I believe I have found the greatest website ever.  Not only are my eyes on fire, but I think I heard waterboarding has received a new replacement for creepiest form of torture.

This site makes me want to cry and scream at the same time, while inducing some of the most terrifying images that I can only see when I close my eyes.

Another day, another microwaved lunch.

by Dan J. on Apr.27, 2009, under Movies, Random Thoughts

It’s Monday.  I’m eating a microwaved pasta lunch, which I’m pretty sure isn’t cooked all the way through and listening to Philip Glass.  Is your day more interesting than mine so far?  Probably.

Enough with the Fear!

by Dan J. on Apr.26, 2009, under Random Thoughts

I’m not going to admit to anything.  I don’t understand politics very well, I don’t know the inner workings of government.  I STILL don’t really understand what the difference is between right and left wing.

However…. I do notice the way the media tends to lean towards instilling a certain amount of uncertainty, even fear, upon the general public.  I have absolutely no proof, but a good gut feeling (for what it’s worth) that things are…. ok.

Sure, there were a few mistakes when it came to US mortgages, but lets put that behind us.  Continue with a level of caution, sure… but no more than you normally do.  Don’t go out and splurge, no one ever really should.  If you NEED a new car though, go out and buy it.  If you WANT a new 50″ TV….. wait until you can afford it.

After what has been a long evening of severe inebriation, I would be the WORST financial advisor, but I truly believe things will be ok as long as everyone keeps a level head and thinks about things before they dive in head first.
